Welcome to the Mooroolbark Baptist Soccer Club for 2011. We hope you enjoy the fellowship and fun of our great club. After last season's success we hope to improve not only on the field but off it as well. There's a lot to look forward to this season with new people joining us with the opportunity for players to improve their skills enough to challenge for a place in the first team. The coach of the first team (Knights) will be Dave Rickard, while the coach of the second team (Warriors) is Shani Comben. We are excited to announce the launch of our third men's team (Mooroolbark Vikings) and also the newly named Mooroolbark Burras our U8 team. The Ladies (Raiders) will be coached by myself. The junior coaches will be announced once depending on registrations and which age groups we will enter. The Knights compete in Division 1, the Warriors in Division 5, the Vikings in Division 6 and the Raiders in Ladies Division 1 of the Victorian Churches Soccer Association (VCSA). We continue the partnership tie with Columbian club, Acevedo (formerly Villa Niza). David Noy who coached at the club will assist us as we explore the ministry and network possibilities. An important ways in which we can all contribute this year is to help each other. One of this club's strongest attributes is its ability to pull together and have a great time doing it. If you can assist, please speak to a committee member or one of the coaches. Social activities will be important so keep an eye on the 'news' section of the website as well as details announced at training. One aspect of the new season I'd like to comment on is our attitude to the game. We all like to win and playing hard is not only expected but encouraged at all times. Having said that, I would be dismayed if our behaviour wasn't up to the high standard of previous years. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any concerns during the year. Enjoy your time here and laugh lots! Yours in Christ Steve Noy
